About the Developer

I’ve always loved studying to white noise and wanted to build my own generator for it. Most ambient audio tools out there felt either cluttered, locked behind subscriptions, or based on looped audio files — so I set out to make something personal, lightweight, and focused purely on studying.

Sonus runs completely local in your browser through procedural Web Audio synthesis. There are no tracking scripts, no audio streaming from remote servers, and no distractions. Everything is minimal and custom to you — allowing you to sculpt the 10-band equalizer to match your exact acoustic environment and headspace.

It was built out of a simple need for quiet study flow, and I genuinely hope it helps you find focus in your own work.

The Speech Blocker preset is engineered to gently accentuate the 250 Hz to 4 kHz range where human consonants and intelligibility live. Blending this profile with Brown or Pink noise obscures spoken words into unintelligible ambient texture.
